The
Golden State Warriors head coach
Steve Kerr has stated
that he does not expect the star forward
Stephen Curry to play in the match against
the
Dallas Mavericks.
The 35-year-old missed the match against the San
Antonio Spurs on Monday because of an ankle injury.
Talking after the match, Kerr stated that the situation will
be assessed on Tuesday but he does not expect Curry to return to the starting
lineup for the match against the Mavericks.
“Yeah, we needed that and obviously we’ll reassess tomorrow,”
he said. “But I don’t expect him to play in Dallas.”
The Warriors went on to win the match against the Spurs with
a score of 112-102 at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio. Kerr, in the same press
talk, highlighted the importance of that result, especially without the presence
of Curry who did not take part in the match as well.
“We have another tough game coming up,” he said. “We needed
this one, obviously. We’re in a fight right now down the stretch of the season.
So, good to get the win and build some confidence without Steph, too.”
The victory, however, was not enough for the side to be up in
the points table in the Western Conference where they are still placed in the
10th position with 34 wins and 30 defeats.
