Fans on the social media reacted after news of
Rudy Gobert
being handed a fine of $100,000 for making money gestures towards match
referee.
The
Minnesota Timberwolves centre made money signs towards
the match referee during their defeat to the
Cleveland Cavaliers.
After the match, Gobert admitted that his reaction could cost
him and stated that he was ready to be the bad guy.
"I'll bite the bullet again," he said back then.
"I'll be the bad guy. I'll take the fine, but I think it's hurting our
game. I know the betting and all that is becoming bigger and bigger, but it
shouldn't feel that way.
"My reaction, which I think was the truth, but it
wasn't the time to react that way. It cost my team the game. It was an immature
reaction. It's not just one call. Everyone makes mistakes, but when it's over
and over and over again, of course it's frustrating."
In the most recent development, Gobert was handed a fine of
$100,000 by the NBA for making those gestures.
The development did not go down well with the fans on social media who expressed their anger on X — previously known as Twitter. One
fan even went on to accuse Scott Foster who was officiating that match that he
is an ‘enemy’ of NBA players.
