New Orleans Pelicans star forward
Zion Williamson has once again
committed his future with the current franchise despite being heavily linked
with the
New York Knicks.
It has been an open secret that the 23-year-old had a big
wish of playing at the Madison Square Garden which is the home of the New York
franchise in the competition.
That wish was somehow connected with the NBA
rumors that
Williamson was open to a move to the Knicks in the future. However, the North
Carolina-born forward was recently quoted in a report where he stated that he
is happy with the Pelicans and is not looking for a move anytime soon.
“New York is the Mecca of basketball. So, playing here … It
was dope,” he said. “You can tell the fans are really behind the Knicks, and
it’s always dope to see, especially when fans are super loyal like that. But
for me, I'm good in NOLA. I'm glad we got the win.”
Williamson was one of the star performers for the Pelicans as
they defeated the Knicks in the most recent encounter with a score of 115-92 at
the Madison Square Garden on Tuesday.
The young forward ended up contributing 21 points to go with
five rebounds and four assists for the winning team.
