The clock malfunction grabbed the headline in the match between
the
Golden State Warriors and the
Los Angeles Lakers.
The last two minutes of the match concluded in about 20
minutes amid chaos when the Lakers coach Darvin Ham challenged an out-of-bound
call that helped the Warriors in taking control of the possession.
That challenge started the delay which ended up taking roughly
about 20 minutes and one of the reasons was the clock malfunctioning.
The Warriors head coach
Steve Kerr called the whole incident
‘bizarre’ and stated that it happens once or twice every year.
"It was bizarre," he said. "It seems like a
few times a year you get clock issues. That's about as extreme as I've been a
part of where the backup unit doesn't work either. It's unfortunate. I felt bad
for the fans. That was a great game, and then the last two minutes everyone is
just kind of looking at each other wondering what to do."
The Warriors ended up on the winning side in a bottom-of-the-table
clash against the Lakers with a score of 128-121 at the crypto.com Arena in Los
Angeles.
After that result, the Warriors have now moved up to the
ninth spot in the Western Conference with 35 wins and 21 defeats whereas the Lakers
have now moved to the 10th spot with 36 wins and 32 defeats.
