The
Phoenix Suns have completed the signing of veteran point
guard Isaiah Thomas on a 10-day contract. The news was first reported by the Athletic reporter Shams Charania.
As per the latest report, the 35-year-old will be on the bench
for the Suns where he will serve as a backup for
Devin Booker in the upcoming
matches.
This is not the first time when Thomas will be representing
the Suns as he previously played for them in the 2014 campaign. In that season,
he played 46 games for the Suns and ended up registering 701 points to go with
109 rebounds and 171 assists.
Thomas has not played in the NBA Since the 2021-22 season when
he played for three different franchises — the Los Angeles Lakers, Dallas
Mavericks and the Charlotte Hornets.
Out of the three, he only managed to play more than five
games for the Hornets. He ended up playing 17 games for the franchise that
season, registering 141 points to go with 21 rebounds and 24 assists.
Thomas has been in impressive form in the G-League where he was
playing for the Salt Lake City Stars which is the affiliate of the Utah Jazz
franchise. In four games for the City Stars, he ended up registering 32.5
points per game to go with 5.25 assists as well.
