NBA Commissioner
Adam Silver has announced that the
Los Angeles Clippers
will hold the 2026
All-Star Game at Intuit Dome.
The new arena is currently in its building phase and it is
expected that it will become one of the best in the world in terms of
facilities.
Silver, who became one of the most high-profile
personalities to visit the site, stated that the Intuit Dome will host the
event.
"They're under such a tight schedule here that we said,
'Can you stop the sawing for eight minutes?'" he said. "And they
said, 'No. That's the only way we're going to be able to open on time’. "I
think I've seen pretty much every major arena in the world at this point, 32
years in the NBA. And this is unlike anything I've ever seen."
Clippers owner Steve Ballmer was also quoted in a report
where he stated how he is excited to have an arena which has the potential to
become the best in the world.
"We want this to be the penultimate basketball
experience on the planet," he said. "As good as it gets. The
pinnacle, the peak.”
The 2024 NBA All-Star Game will be played on February 18 and
it will be hosted by the Indiana Pacers at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
