For a while now, the debate among NBA fans on who's the GOAT always circles around
Michael Jordan and
LeBron James. One of the strongest arguments that's always used in this discussion is the rings one. Is LeBron at somepoint affected by winning "only" 4 NBA Titles?
The obvious answer is no, this issue is not something that seems to bother the Los Angeles Lakers star. Not even having less rings than
Kobe Bryant too. So said ESPN's Zach Lowe: "Anybody who thinks LeBron is sitting there chasing that ghost every night ruminating, 'Kobe has five, Michael has six, I have four,'" Lowe said. "That's apparently not LeBron's mentality. That's what I've heard privately for a long time."
LeBron James, with the obtained ring in 2020 with the Lakers, has four championship rings, although he has participated in 10 NBA Finals throughout his career. Meanwhile, Michael Jordan won all six Finals he played in, all with the Chicago Bulls.
Still, any NBA fan with an objective mind knows that LeBron's impact on the competition is at the very least to rank behind Jordan in terms of being the greatest figure in basketball history. Everything he has accomplished, and continues to achieve at 39 years old, surpasses any previously known limits.
At almost 40 years old, LeBron James is still one of the best players in the NBA today. If the Los Angeles Lakers were higher in the Western Conference standings, his individual accomplishments would be much more highly regarded. We're witnessing the history of the competition and is not being taken into account as much as he should be.
