Superstar
Jayson Tatum had himself a night, as his stellar performance led to a 118-110
Boston Celtics victory over the
Brooklyn Nets at the Barclays Center.
JT has caused havoc ever since he's stepped foot into the NBA, and now in his 7th season he's currently leading his team to the best record in the league and is looking for something that very few players have...an NBA championship.
Tonight Tatum finished with a game-high 41 points to go along with 14 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block on 54% shooting and 5 made three pointers. He scored a whopping 31 points in the first half which helped give the Celtics a 72-57 lead heading into the break.
Following this performance, the 25-year-old star was asked postgame about going for 50 or 60 points following his hot first half. He responded by saying there is no temptation to aim for scoring that much points because he's done that many times in his career already.
At this point, everybody knows he's capable of accomplishing that. What he focused on was playing the right way, whether that's bringing the ball up and facilitating the offense or dishing out passes to find the open man for an easy shot.
The 5-time All-Star is one of the league's prolific scorers and is capable of dropping 50 on any given night, but he's more focused on playing team basketball to help the city of Boston celebrate another NBA championship.
