Los Angeles Clippers manager
Tyronn Lue has revealed the motivation behind his team’s success in the match against the
Boston Celtics.
The Clippers produced a dominant performance and won the
contest against the Celtics with a score of 115-96 at the TD Garden on
Saturday.
After the match, Lue talked to the media and stated that the previous defeat at home against the same opposition gave players extra
motivation to produce their best performance on Saturday.
"The guys were pretty motivated," he Lue.
"... When they came to L.A., they did us pretty bad. So guys were locked
in. This was a game [where] PG, we thought he might be out, but he wanted to
play to see where we're at. Just a measuring stick against a great team. We
just wanted to kind of see where we're at. We had that on our mind."
Clippers shooting guard James Harden stated that it was
perhaps the team’s best defensive performance in the competition.
"Against a team that was playing really, really
well," he said. "Especially at home. ... We still got some ways to
go, but this is a good test for us."
The star of the show for the winning team on the day was Kawhi
Leonard who registered 26 points to go with seven rebounds and two assists.
