Last night, the
Houston Rockets defeated
Los Angeles Lakers 135-119. The game had a lot of intense moments, like when Dillon Brooks punched LeBron in the nose. Despite all that controversy, Houston biggest lead was by 30 points, LA managed to stay in game with a nice final run but they couldn't tie the Rockets. Lakers Head Coach,
Darvin Ham, pulled Davis and James out of the game when it was out of reach, and by the look of LeBron, he was not happy at all with the coach and the team's performance.
The truth is that the Lakers are underperforming. Yes, they won the first edition In-season tournament, but that was almost two months ago. LA is a big market and there are many fans distributed all over the world. The franchise history commands excellence.
The look that LeBron gave Darvin Ham yesterday after he was benched was as close as saying goodbye as it could be. It was so obvious that unchained a lot of social media reactions to this.
Currently the Lakers are 24-24, they should be a little higher than that. The team is there,
Anthony Davis is playing his best basketball since the bubble. They have good surrounding pieces, but they just can't seem to find some consistency. Yesterday the Rockets demolished LA at times.
It's not entirely Darvin Ham's fault. The coach kept asking his players to play with more energy, to play with more sense of urgency. By the time his Lakers understood the message it was too little too late.
Things seemed to reach a boling point yesterday for the Lakers. They have a lot of things to figure out before the trade deadline, and a lot of things to figure out inside the locker room.
