Dallas Mavericks star point guard
Luka Doncic has achieved
yet another milestone after an impressive outing against the
Utah Jazz.
The 25-year-old is often regarded as one of the best players
in the competition along with the likes of Denver Nuggets’ Luka Jokic.
Doncic returned to his very best against Jazz as he
registered 34 points to go with nine rebounds and eight assists. While doing
so, he is now second in the list of players with most 30 or more points, five
or more assists and rebounds in a game in a season.
The Ljubljana-born has achieved the milestone 43 times this
season and he is only behind legendary
Oscar Robertson of the Milwaukee Bucks
who registered similar numbers 47 times in a single season in 1962.
His performance turned out to be an instrumental one for the
Mavericks who ended up on the winning side with a score of 113-97 at the American Airlines
Center in Dallas on Thursday.
After that performance, the Mavericks have now jumped to the
sixth spot in the Western Conference table with 41 wins and 29 defeats,
overtaking the likes of Sacramento Kings and the Phoenix Suns in the process.
Doncic is having a fabulous season for the franchise where
he is contributing 34.1 points per game, which is the best by any player in the
competition. To go with that, he is also contributing nine rebounds and 9.8
assists per game.
