The
Denver Nuggets are on the verge of starting their latest playoff run and it could result in them winning back-to-back championships. If that happens, it'll undoubtedly be because of the work and partnership of
Jamal Murray and reigning Finals MVP
Nikola Jokic.
There are many great duos in the
NBA right now, but Murray recently said he thinks they are better than all of them.
Speaking of his partnership with Jokic, Murray said:
“I think we’re the best duo. I think they’re in a bigger market and people have more interest in LeBron and AD in LA, or what Dame and Giannis could be, or what Luka and Kyrie could do. If we’re talking about the best duos in getting the job done and how they play for each other and with each other, I think me and Jokic are undoubtedly number one.”
It's hard to argue against Murray's statement when you consider everything that he and Jokic have done together.
They have been playing well for several seasons but took things to the next level last year when they won their first championship.
Jokic had been a powerhouse for years as Murray rehabilitated from injuries. But when Murray was back, the team was able to achieve new goals and reach their true potential. That is part of the reason why their partnership is so special.
Murray and Jokic aren't as showy as Luka and Kyrie, LeBron and AD, or Dame and Giannis, so they don't get as much attention. But when you look at all they have achieved, it's hard to say that Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic aren't the best duo in the NBA.
