Miami Heat small forward Jimmy Buttler has been granted a
leave because of a death in his family.
The development was confirmed by the franchise in a detailed
statement where they asked for respect for the privacy of the players' family.
"Jimmy Butler has been granted a leave of absence as he
deals with the death of a family member," the statement reads. "Jimmy
and his family ask for privacy at this point in time as they navigate this
loss. Updates will be given when appropriate."
The Heat are going through a good season where they are
placed in the second position in the Southeast Standings with 28 wins and 25
defeats.
However, in the previous game, they suffered a defeat to the
Boston Celtics with a score of 110-106 at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida.
Buttler is having a more than impressive season for the Heat
this time around where he is averaging 21.4 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.6 assists
per game.
In the team’s last outing against the San Antonio Spurs, he
ended up registering 17 points to go with 11 rebounds and 11 assists. His most
impressive outing this season came in the match against the Indiana Pacers
where he registered 36 points to go with 11 rebounds and three assists.
