Joel Embiid is having another MVP season this year with the
Philadelphia 76ers. The skilled center has became an unstoppable force and his scoring numbers are historic. On the other hand,
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander emerged as a star last season, but has taken his game to new heights this campaign, joining the company of some of the NBA's legends.
Last night, Embiid scored 33 points in a road win against the Hornets, and now is the third player in the league's history to score 30+ points in 20 consecutive games played.
The other players that have done this are James Harden (32 consecutive games in 2018-19) and Wilt Chamberlain, who stands on the top alone with 65 consecutive games of this kind of performance.
Sixers' star center is playing excellent basketball and the only thing that separates him from repeating the MVP is his health. He's close to not making the new 65-game threshold rule.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has received a lot of praise this season and well deserved. This young all-star is the leader of the unexpected
Oklahoma City Thunder. Currently seconds in the Western Conference, this team is here to stay.
Shai recently scored 33 points againts Western Conference bests, Minnesota Timberwolves, and becamed the 8th player in NBA history to record 30 games of 30+ points in their first 41 games of the season, joining big names such as Wilt Chamberlain, Michael Jordan, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar among others.
We'll se for how long they can extend these streaks, but for the foreseable future, Joel and Shai look like they'll keep breaking more records and getting more wins for their respective teams.
