NBA admitted
that
Golden State Warriors Draymond Green should have been penalised for an offensive
foul during the match against
Los Angeles Lakers.
The game proved to be an epic encounter as the Lakers came from behind in the final
seconds of the overtime to secure the win with a score of 145-144.
With less
than six seconds remaining, it seemed that Green fouled the Lakers wing Jarred
Vanderbilt as he managed to pass the ball to Curry who scored the three-pointer
and gave his team a marginal lead of 144-143.
However, Lakers
star LeBron James was then fouled with less than two seconds remaining as he
scored two more points to secure the win.
NBA, in a
recent statement, admitted that Green should have been penalised for an
offensive foul and that the referee missed that. "Green (GSW) steps toward Vanderbilt (LAL) and he delivers
the contact that dislodges Vanderbilt during the screen.”
The result
left Curry frustrated as he ended up ripping his shirt in a video that appeared
on the social media platform X — previously known as Twitter.
Curry had a great
day on a personal level during the match as he ended up registering 46 points,
the highest by any player in the match. He registered three rebounds and seven
assists as well.
