NBA has admitted that referee made a wrong call during the Sacramento Kings recent defeat to the New York Knicks.
The Kings had a poor outing against the Knicks as they suffered a defeat with a score of 98-91 at the Golden 1 Center on Sunday.
As per the latest, the NBA has admitted that the referee missed a foul on Kings’ centre Domantas Sabonis by the Knicks’ OG Anunoby late in the fourth quarter of the match.
The decision ended up costing the Kings as they were just trailing the Knicks with three points with less than two minutes remaining on the clock. Once the foul was not called, the Knicks managed to counterattack and register two more points with just 37.1 seconds left.
"Anunoby (NYK) reaches in and comes across Sabonis' (SAC) face, affecting his SQBR (Speed, balance, quickness, rhythm) in the lane," the last two-minute report indicated.
The result put the Kings in a tricky position as they are placed on the sixth position in the Western Conference with 38 wins and 28 defeats. They are closely followed by Dallas Mavericks, who, after the win against the Denver Nuggets, are seventh on the table with 39 win and 29 defeats.
On the other hand, the Knicks are now placed in the fourth position in the Eastern Conference with 40 wins and 27 defeats.
