Victor Wembanyama had an unbelievable night where he led the
San Antonio Spurs to an overtime victory over the Brooklyn Nets.
The 20-year-old registered 33 points to go with 15 rebounds
and seven assists on the night as the Spurs came out on top with a score of
122-115 at the Moody Center in Austin on Sunday.
After the match, Spurs head coach
Gregg Popovich predicted
bigger and better things from Wembanyama in the coming years. "He's going
to show us things that none of us have ever seen before," he said.
Wembanyama also talked to the media after the game and stated
his performances makes him feel like it is adding up to something big.
"Even though it feels like it's little by little, every
game, when you do it every day, after a whole season it adds up to something
big," he said.
With that performance, Wembanyama became the first player in
the history of the NBA to register more than 30 points, 15 rebounds, five or
more assists, five or more blocks and register at least 50 per cent field goals
in a single game.
The Le Chesnay-born is having a great season overall for the
Spurs as he has registered 20.6 points, 10.3 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game.
