Trade Deadline:
Dallas Mavericks and
Milwaukee Bucks are reportedly
exploring the idea of a swap between Grant William and
Bobby Portis.
The ongoing transfer window is set to conclude on Thursday and
teams are now finalising their strategy to strengthen their squads for the rest
of the season.
As per NBA correspondent for different publications, Marc
Stein, both franchises held a detailed discussion about the possible swap before
the end of the mid-season transfer window.
“The Bucks and Mavericks, league sources say, have held
exploratory discussions on a trade that would swap Milwaukee's Bobby Portis Jr.
and Dallas newcomer
Grant Williams,” he said.
William, who plays as a power forward for the Mavericks, is
having a rather below-par season where he is averaging 8.2 points, 3.6 rebounds
and 1.8 assists per game. In the team’s previous outing against the Philadelphia
76ers, he ended up scoring 14 points to go with seven rebounds and two assists.
His best outing this season came in the match against the Sacramento
Kings where he registered 27 points along with eight rebounds and three assists.
On the other hand, Portis, who plays as a forward for the Bucks,
is having a better season than William as he is registering 12.6 points, 6.9
rebounds and one assist per game. His best outing this season came in the match
against the Detroit Pistons where he registered 31 points to go with 12 rebounds
and one assist.
