Tonight's the night, the
All-Star Weekend is reaching to its peak, as the All-Star Game will be celebrated in just a few hours at the home of the Indiana Pacers, the Gainbridge Fieldhouse. On the Legends Brunch,
Larry Bird, one of the most iconic players of the 80's, was honored as Legend of the Year, and stated his desire for a true competition for tonight's main event.
Former
Boston Celtics legend, Larry Bird, was honored in his hometown, Indiana, as part of the events planned for the All-Star Weekend that's taking place there. Known for his competetitiveness throughout all his career, Larry was excited for the upcoming game, hoping to witness players going all in tonight.
"One thing I would really like to see, is that they play hard tonight in this All-Star game. I think its very important. When you have the best players in the world together...you gotta compete, and you gotta play hard, and you gotta show the fans how good you really are."
Larry Legend was a savage competitor at his time, wanting to win everything he played for. He was relentless on the court, one of the elite players of all time. Great passer, phenomenal scorer and probably the greatest player who wore a Celtics uniform, in company of the late Bill Russell.
Bird's rivalry with
Magic Johnson and all of their finals battles sparked a basketball frenzy that propelled the NBA and cimented the league for the years to come.
