Phoenix Suns star
Kevin Durant has asked his former team Brooklyn
Nets to not run a tribute video for him.
The 35-year-old, who is often regarded as one of the greatest
forwards in the history of the NBA after registering more than 28,000 points in his illustrious
career, will return to the Barclays Center for the first time after joining the
Suns last season from the Nets.
Durant was recently quoted in a report where he asked his
former team to not run a tribute video when he will return to face them on
their home court. “Please don’t,” he
wrote. “The night will be better without it.”
During his two full seasons at the franchise, Durant ended
up registering more than 2,500 points in 90 games where he averaged nearly 29
points per game.
Durant is having a more than decent season for the Suns this
time around where he is averaging 28.5 points, 6.4 rebounds and 5.7 assists per
game. In his previous game for the Suns against the Orlando Magic, he ended up
registering just 15 points with four rebounds and five assists.
His best outing in the competition came in the game against
the Chicago Bulls where he ended up registering 43 points with six rebounds and
eight assists.
