The
Orlando Magic wants to upgrade their young squad bringing experience on board before the
trade deadline. The Magic is having a surprising campaign but they would really benefit from bringing veteranship to the team, especially if they are going to compete for a Playoff spot. The objective:
Kyle Lowry or
Chris Paul.
The news was reported by
Matt Moore of Action Network. The Magic are looking to bolster their roster with the arrival of a veteran point guard to help them compete at the highest level heading into the upcoming playoffs, which the Florida franchise hopes to qualify for.
Orlando started the 2023/24 season like a shot. During the first weeks of the Regular Season they were one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference along with Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks.
However, their performance started to drop and they currently sit in the 8th position in their conference with a 26-23 record, having won five of their last 10 games.
Everything points to the fact that their trip to the playoffs will have to happen via play-in, and that's the reason for the interest in Paul and Lowry's figures.
Both Golden State Warriors and Charlotte Hornets players, however, have expensive contracts. Lowry will also become a free agent in the summer, so Orlando Magic will have to decide if it is worth sacrificing valuable future players in exchange for competing this year in which they are not among the favorites.
