Milwaukee Bucks star
Damian Lillard has stated that he is focused
on the welfare of his kids while going through a divorce.
The 33-year-old was recently quoted in a report where he
stated that he loves basketball but he is more concerned about the welfare of
his kids in these personally testing times.
“As much as I love basketball, and I love my job, I don't
care about it more than I care about my kids,” he said. “Of course you carry it
with you People say, ‘When I hoop I ain’t thinking about nothing,' but I’m not
21. I got three kids. I’m tight with my family and I’m going through a divorce.”
Lillard, despite struggling with off-the-field issues, is
having a more than impressive time on the court for his new franchise after a
move from the Portland Trail Blazers. He spent 11 seasons with the Blazers.
In the ongoing
campaign, Lillard is averaging 25.1 points per game, 4.3 rebounds and 6.8
assists per game. His best performance this season came in the match against
the Detroit Pistons where he ended up registering 45 points to go with six
rebounds and 11 assists. It was the second occasion this season where the
California-born ended up registering 40 or more points for the Bucks.
