Paolo Banchero opens up about the Orlando Magic's drop in team performance: "We’ve just got to fight through it"

The Orlando Magic started this season as one of the unexpected surprises. The Magic was an atypical young squad, they weren't behind the flashes and the dunks. Instead, they were relentless on defense, putting a lot of energy covering space, deflecting passes, fighting through screens. But appears as they've reached a slump in their performance, losing several games in the way. Paolo Banchero addressed this situation with HoopsHype's Jason Beede.

The days of the Orlando Magic being one of this years sensation seem to be a long time ago. Orlando was huge during the first stretch of this season, with a record of 16-7.

Since then, they are 7-15 now and when Magic's star was asked about how to get things back on track, he answered:

"We’ve just got to come together as much as we can, pick up the communication, pick up the intensity, and get back to being together as a group. It’s just that point in the season where it starts feeling like a grind for a lot of guys, including myself."

On this regard, he also added:

"We’ve just got to fight through it, push through it, come together as a group and be there for each other … Have each other’s backs. We did today which is why we came back but we just kind of waited too long. That hurt us but we’ll be alright. We’ve just got to, as I said, stick together and raise the level of intensity."
