Paul George is finally enjoying some good times with his team, the Los Angeles Clippers, as he's also having a career season in almost every major stats. It seems like all the bad luck and the injuries belong to the past and now, with the end of the season coming up, PG is ready to take the Clippers to the next level.
With a 36-17 record in the Western Conference, the Clippers are currently sitting on the 3rd position, only 3 victories away from the top seeded Minnesota Timberwolves. After the All-Star break, the Clippers are going all-in to get that number 1 spot, trying to pick up things right were they left them.
According to George, the team has more potential to show, and despite what the majority of people thinks about their beginning of the season, PG said that the team really embraced that rough start and he doesn't believe that without it, they would be in the same position.
"The six-game losing streak was my favorite part. Because we knew we were gonna — we couldn't get worse from there. We're gonna get better and we knew once we started to win, things would start to click. So without that, I don't think we go on a 33-10 stretch or whatever that stretch looks like. I don't think we go on that run without those six losses,” shared Paul to ClutchPoints' Tomer Azarly.
Paul also told what's the landscape for the rest of the season: "[The toughest part] is not looking too far ahead,” George said. “With 30 games, just not looking too far ahead, taking it one game at a time. Because that's what you tend to do in the second half of the season. You start to look ahead and look forward to playoffs and just trying to get to the playoffs. But we just gotta take it one game at a time."
Paul George is averaging 22.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.6 steals per game on 45.8 percent shooting from the field and 39.3 percent shooting from three.
