Philadelphia 76ers have registered a much-needed win against the Miami Heat with a score of 98-91 at the Wells Fargo Center on Monday. We analyze what can happen with the Sixers between now and the playoffs with Tyrese Maxey on fire and with the question of whether Joel Embiid will return at some point.
What now for the Philadelphia 76ers?
The Sixers are back to the number six spot in the Eastern Conference with 38 wins and 30 defeats. However, their celebrations can prove to be short-lived as Indiana Pacers are sitting seventh with 38 wins and 31 defeats.
On the other hand, the Miami Heat are eighth on the table with 37 wins and 31 defeats. Therefore, the Sixers cannot afford any hiccups in the upcoming fixtures.
Upcoming fixtures
The Sixers will have a rather tough fixtures in the coming weeks. They will be going up against the likes of the Phoenix Suns, the Los Angeles Lakers, the Los Angeles Clippers and the Sacramento Kings in the next five matches. After that, they have a visit to an in-form Cleveland Cavaliers.
Before the end of the regular season, the Sixers will also face the likes of Miami Heat, Oklahoma City Thunder and Orlando Magic. Interestingly, nine out of the 14 remaining matches for the Sixers will be away from home, thus making it even more difficult for them to keep their position in sixth place.
X-Factor missing
Joel Embiid has been a big miss for the Sixers in the recent past. The 30-year-old has been out of action since January 31 and since then, the side has struggled to maintain a winning run. The Sixers' management will be hoping that their star player will return to action before the start of the playoffs.
