After a big win against the Philadelphia 76ers in their previous game, the Phoenix Suns were able to pick up another victory tonight. They defeated the Atlanta Hawks 128-115 at Footprint Center behind Devin Booker’s elite shooting.
The Suns have championship aspirations with their big 3 of DBook, Kevin Durant, and Bradley Beal. However, they first have to make the playoffs. It’s been a struggle all season for this team to stay healthy but they’ve been able to build their chemistry and pick up some wins as of late. Phoenix has been straddling around the play-in all year but they are close to escaping and earning a top 6 seed.
The 27-year-old guard out of Kentucky did his part to help his team succeed, as he finished this game with 30 points on 10/15 shooting and 6/8 from three. KD had 19 points with 3 blocks while Bradley Beal recorded 12 points and 9 assists. Eric Gordon provided a spark off the bench with his 21 points on 8/11 efficiency and Grayson Allen hit 3 triples on his way towards 13 points.
Dejounte Murray did all he could in this one as he nearly recorded a triple-double. He finished with 29 points, 9 rebounds, 10 assists, and 4 steals. De’Andre Hunter scored 22 points and Bogdan Bogdanovic ended with 16 points while hitting 4 three-pointers. Clint Capela contributed 13 points, 10 boards, and 2 blocks.
Phoenix improves to 41-29 with this win and are now tied with the Dallas Mavericks for 6th in the West. The Suns are aiming to avoid the play-in so picking up this victory is huge for them. They are 6-4 over their last 10 games and will face off against the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday.
Atlanta drops to 30-39 with this loss and remain the 10th seed in the East. It’s looking like the Hawks will be the last team in the play-in tournament, so they’ll have to win 2 games on the road to make the playoffs. They are 4-6 over their last 10 games and will look to bounce back on Saturday against the Charlotte Hornets.
