Richard Jefferson had a very good career. NBA Champion alongside LeBron James in 2016, he's known for being one of the funniest commentators after he retired, back in 2018. In an interview with TheScore, Jefferson said that in a one-on-one matchup today, he could take
Michael Jordan. He even dared to predict a result: "11-7."
"Despite celebrating his 61st birthday on Feb. 17, Michael Jordan's age could be a limiting factor in this hypothetical matchup," Jefferson said. However, he added, "The legendary player's muscle memory and competitive spirit remain impressive, leading a 43-year-old Richard Jefferson to acknowledge that MJ could score at least seven points against him."
"While I haven't aged the same way as LeBron James, another veteran player still dominating the NBA at 39, I'm still in awesome physical shape," Jefferson said. "Despite retiring six years ago, many would back Jefferson in a one-on-one against Jordan today," he said.
"It's important not to underestimate the playing ability of a former player in his 40s," Jefferson said. "Which is why I would back Jefferson in a head-to-head matchup against Jordan," he concluded.
