The
Golden State Warriors reportedly tried to sign two players
in the recently concluded transfer window.
The mid-season transfer window came to an end last Thursday as
teams finalised their contingent for the remainder of the campaign.
As per the latest report, the Warriors were keen to sign two players before the end of the window — shooting guard
Alex Caruso
and power forward
Kelly Olynyk.
However, it was reported that the deal could not materialise
because of the Raptors' demand to sign two players —
Andrew Wiggins and Jonathan
Kuminga — in exchange.
“[Warriors] had very serious conversations about Alex
Caruso, Kelly Olynyk, teams were calling about Andrew Wiggins… Everybody asked
for
Jonathan Kuminga and they essentially said, ‘We are never trading him. He
is untouchable’,” reported ClutchPoints App.
It is not the first time the Warriors have shown resistance in letting
go of their players this season, especially someone like Kuminga who is highly rated by the management.
The 21-year-old is having an impressive season for the
Warriors where he is averaging 15.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.8 assists per
game. His best outing for the side came against the Sacramento Kings where he
registered 31 points to go with three rebounds and three assists.
On the other hand, Wiggins, who plays as a small forward for
the Warriors, is averaging 12.5 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game.
