The
Oklahoma City Thunder star point guard Shai
Gilgeous-Alexander has achieved yet another milestone this season.
The 25-year-old is often regarded as one of the best players
currently playing in the division alongside the likes of Dallas Mavericks’
Luka Doncic, Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic and Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee
Bucks.
Gilgeous-Alexander is now set for a big end-of-the-season award
after meeting the 65-game rule. With that, he is now also expected to make huge
sums when he will be selected in the All-NBA Team of the Season once again.
Another positive for Gilgeous-Alexander is now that after
having consecutive season with 65 or more games played, he is now also set to
sign a super-max contract extension in the 2025 offseason.
This season, the Toronto-born will earn $33.4 million as a
part of the five-year contract which was signed in the 2021-22 season worth
$172 million.
Gilgeous-Alexander is having a fabulous season for the Thunder
where he is contributing 31.1 points per game which is the second-best in the competition.
That’s not it as he is also contributing 5.6 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game.
His best outing this season came in the match against the
Sacramento Kings where he ended up registering 43 points to go with six
rebounds and nine assists.
