Analyst Stephen A. Smith has made a bold prediction about the Milwaukee Bucks' new head coach Doc Rivers.
The 62-year-old recently joined the franchise as a replacement of Adrian Griffin who was sacked despite the side’s impressive run in the competition.
Smith was recently quoted in a report where he predicted that if Rivers fails to lead the team to the finals, it will be his last job in the NBA.
“I love Doc Rivers, love him to death,” he said. “I know him personally. I'm very happy for him. Here's what Doc Rivers has to understand, and if you don't say it, I'll say it. I'm saying it to him as a friend because he is a friend and I love him.
“On three occasions, he's blown a 3-1 lead. In Game 7s, his career record is 6-10 as a coach and he's lost the last five straight. This is it… if Doc Rivers, and I'm not saying this year has to be the year, but if Doc Rivers doesn't succeed at this job, my prediction is it will be his last as a head coach in the NBA.”

Bucks lost their first match under the coaching of Rivers despite starting brilliantly with a score of 113-107. Despite that defeat, they remain top of the table in the Central Standings with 32 wins and 15 defeats.
