Boston Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla has heaped praise on
his point guard
Derrick White after his impressive display in the match against
the
Indiana Pacers.
The Celtics went on to secure a win with a score of 129-124
at the TD Garden in Boston on Tuesday. Talking after the match which was the Celtics’
fifth win in the last six matches, Mazzulla was full of praise for White who
according to him is a ‘genius’ player.
"He's a genius player," Mazzulla said of White.
"He's a genius player. We've missed our foul to give call the last three
times we've tried to use it, and credit to him for recognizing that and taking
advantage of that."
The 29-year-old had an impressive outing for the winning
team in the match where he registered 24 points to go with two rebounds and
five assists. It was the first occasion in the last five matches in the
competition where White managed to register more than 20 points.
The Colorado-born is having a more than decent time on the
court for the Nuggets as he is averaging 15.8 points, four rebounds and 4.7
assists per game. His best outing in the competition came in the match against
the Golden State Warriors where he registered 30 points including seven
rebounds and three assists.
