The NBA world was surprised earlier this week when
Terry Rozier was traded to the
Miami Heat from the Charlotte Hornets. Rozier, who has been having one of the best seasons of his career, could immediately improve Miami's changes of returning to the NBA Finals.
When Rozier landed in Miami, he had a direct message to fans of the team, which was shared by the Heat on social media.
"This is home for me ... I'm glad to be a part of Heat Culture, let's get it. Y'all going to see what all the hype's about," Rozier said after deboarding the plane.
"Heat culture" has been a big part of the franchise for years now and it is essentially the sort of attitude and dedication that players have to doing what's right for the team.
Rozier might quickly adapt to the Heat culture and the team might end up being happy to have him. So far this season, the 29-year-old guard is averaging 23.2 points on 45.9% from the field. He is also putting up 6.6 assists per game.
Before the Heat, Rozier had only been with two teams. He got started with the Boston Celtics and then moved to the Hornets in 2019. He has gotten consistently better at each stop and now is playing the best basketball of his career.
Rozier was sent to Miami in exchange for Kyle Lowry. Lowry, however, will end up in a different location, according to inside reports that state the Hornets are already looking for a new home for the aging guard.
