Doc Rivers is now the new head coach for the Milwaukee Bucks after the shocking firing of Adrian Griffin. He will have the tall order of getting the team further in the playoffs than they have been in years.
Rivers obviously has the support and trust of team members Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard but there are other former NBA players who don't have faith in him.
Speaking with HoopsHype, former Los Angeles Clippers player Marcin Gortat said that he isn't sure how well Rivers will do as head coach in Milwaukee.
"I didn't have the best time with Doc Rivers, unfortunately," he said to HoopsHype. "He's a good dude and great to talk to, with incredible stories and a rich history in the NBA. However, I wouldn't trust his coaching decisions. I just don't have confidence in them."
Gortat didn't get into the intricate reasons why he doesn't trust Rivers' coaching decision but it's clear that he didn't enjoy his time under his leadership.
Gortat played for only one season with the Clippers. It was the last year of him playing in the NBA and he averaged just 5 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.4 assists.
It was yet another disappointing season for the Clippers, who got pushed out of the playoffs in the opening round by the Golden State Warriors.
Rivers hasn't had much luck in the postseason since leading the Boston Celtics to a Finals win back in 2008. Although he has coached two teams since then, both have struggled to make it far in the playoffs. If he wishes to keep his new job with the Bucks, he will have to change that.
