The Phoenix Suns embarked on a seven-game road quest visiting the Dallas Mavericks, who were looking to recover after losing against the Celtics on Monday. These two teams don't like each other. Booker and Doncic have been going at each other for a while now, and this time the game lived up to their battle. On the first half Luka was sensational; on the second half (and especially in the third) Booker put a show of his own. Phoenix wins 132-109.
Phoenix arrived Dallas on fire, they’ve won six straight games and they are looking like a real powerhouse in the west. They’ve already surpassed the Mavs and now they are aiming to the top of the conference.
The Dallas Mavericks have been experiencing some injury problems. Kyrie Iriving played through a right thumb sprain last game and was ruled out for this one. And the Mavs missed him.
Without Kyrie Irving Dallas just couldn't keep up to such offensive rhythm.
Luka did a little bit of everything on the first half. He seems to enjoy playing against Phoenix. Just and incredible display by Doncic, scoring 24 points. Dallas looked confident too, shooting 10/14 from three as a team.
Phoenix shot poorly through the first two quarters. Devin Booker was starting to feel it, and finished with 16 points. 58-57 ahead the Mavericks at the break.
During the third quarter the mommentum shifted completely. Phoenix played way better defense and forced Dallas to several turnovers. Devin Booker took care of the Mavericks by himself, scoring 22 points on 11 attemps.
Luka kept trying but he needed help, the Suns defended him much better on this half. They wore him down. By the time the local fans started to get a bit frustrated, Grant Williams got ejected for two technical fouls.
The Mavericks seemed lost, while Booker kept draining shot after shot.
By the forth quarter, the Suns had a 22 points lead, margin that prove to be decisive.
Devin Booker finished with 46 points. Unstoppable attacking and relentless on defense too. Bradley Beal helped with 20 points. Grayson Allen had a good shooting night, 15 points for him.
Luka Doncic had 34 points and 9 assists, followed by Tim Hardaway Jr with 17 points.
On Friday, the Mavericks will be playing the Hawks in Atlanta and the Suns will continue their road trip visiting the Pacers.
