The
Los Angeles Clippers faced a very disappointing and surprisingly large blowout loss to the
Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday night, bringing them just one defeat away from elimination in the
playoffs. As the game concluded, fans were hoping to get some good news about
Kawhi Leonard, who has been out for two games now with inflammation in his right knee.
Instead, they got the opposite: the team reported that Leonard will sit out of Game 6.
After missing the final eight regular-season games of the year and Game 1 of the postseason, Leonard came back for Game 2, when he scored 15 points in 35 minutes. He also tried his hardest in Game 3 but didn't move like regular and only scored 9 points in 25 minutes. He was out for Game 4 and was spotted on the sidelines during Game 5 as his team was taken down by 30 points.
Wednesday's game was a complete mess for the Clippers, with James Harden, Paul George, and Russell Westbrook all missing the mark and not doing much for their team. Even though they played at home, they didn't move with much speed or efficiency. The Mavericks dominated them from the beginning to the end of the game.
Before the game, head coach Ty Lue was asked about Leonard's return and said, "It’s a day-to-day thing. When he’s feeling good and medical says he’s cleared to go, then that’s when we’ll go. Right now, we’re just focused on tonight.”
Game 5 didn't go well and without Leonard, Game 6 might not as well.
