The
Brooklyn Nets are decided to retain
Nic Claxton and thus they are not considering any offers. As a young part of the team, the Nets are willing to keep their starting power forward, sources told SNY's Ian Begley.
The Nets view Claxton as a valuable long-term asset and intend to be "aggressive" in their efforts to renew his contract during the upcoming summer.
Although reports surfaced last week suggesting Claxton's availability in a potential trade, Begley notes that the Nets would only consider offers that prove truly surprising to deal the player.
This positioning by the Nets reflects the confidence and importance they attribute to Claxton within their team structure and strategy, highlighting his potential and expecting great contribution in the near future.
In 40 games he has played this season, he averaged 12.4 points and 10.4 rebounds in 29.8 minutes of play per game. Those are his best combined numbers since he debuted in the world's best basketball league in 2019.
