The
Minnesota Timberwolves are having one of the greatest seasons of franchise's history. Currently sitting at the top of the Western Conference, the Wolves want to carry on this good moment to the playoffs and go for deep run. On the look to add more depth to the point guard position, Minnesota has turned it's eyes on
Detroit Pistons'
Monte Morris.
The Timberwolves are having a sensational season so far, proving the results of that controversial deal that landed Rudy Gobert in Minnesota, on July, 2022. The french center is now fully adapted to share the frontcourt with Karl-Anthony Towns, proving to be a nightmare for teams that dare to attack the rim.
Anthony Edwards showed a lot of progress in last year's playoffs and he keeps improving his game so far up to this campaign.
One of the least mentioned players that's having an awesome season is experienced point guard
Mike Conley. Conley's been playing great basketball, providing the experience necessary to the teams' success. He's having a career year in three-point field goal percentage, shooting almost 44% from long distance.
The Timberwolves want to bolster his position in order to help Conley and take some load off the 36-year-old veteran. That's why the Wolves need a player like Monte Morris.
Morris started his season a few weeks ago, since he recovered from a quad strain. Actually, Morris was selected in the 2017 NBA Draft by Minnesota and now he appears to be the best candidate to stabilize their backup point guard spot.
