NBA fans are now just hours away from the upcoming February
trade deadline. Within the next few days, some of the most popular franchises in the league could undergo some pretty serious changes. While every team could commit to trades, a few of them need more help than others.
The
Dallas Mavericks are one of the teams to keep an eye on as Thursday approaches. They started the season strongly and were one of the best teams in the West. But recently, the Mavericks have slipped down in the standings and are now eighth in the Western Conference.
This is all happening as Luka Doncic plays incredible basketball, scoring 34.8 points per game. Additionally, there are questions about his future. Will he stick around with a team that continues to come up short or will he demand a trade? All of this must be considered by Dallas' front office in the days ahead.
The
Miami Heat could also do something big before the deadline. They recently added Terry Rozier, previously of the Charlotte Hornets, but he hasn't made much of an impact yet. They are suffering when it comes to offensive rating and scoring and are now eighth in their conference. The team went all the way to the NBA Finals last year and they might make changes in hopes of that happening again.
The
Los Angeles Lakers are one of the most talked-about right now, partly because it seems like they are on the verge of acquiring new talent, and sending other players away. Will they sign Dejounte Murray or will they have more luck with players like Bruce Brown, Tyus Jones, or even Kyle Lowry? And will any move silence the growing whispers of LeBron James growing increasingly unhappy with his team?
But the team that could make the biggest alterations this week is the
Golden State Warriors. After months of falling short and an a very disappointing 21-25 record, the Warriors are willing to do just about anything. Reports from inside the team say that everyone aside from Stephen Curry could be traded. How big of a shakeup is coming for the team?
