Trade Deadline: The
Utah Jazz have been mentioned a lot this season regarding trumours and transfers speculations. But since they are one of the hottest teams in the league right now (6 straight wins and currently 9th in the wild west) they decided to remove
John Collins of the trade table.
The Salt Lake City team is showing an impressive performance in January, and now finds itself in ninth place in the Western Conference with a 22-20 record. This situation contrasts with the decision made in December to put John Collins on the market, as the Jazz's great momentum has turned the player's situation 180 degrees.
Marc Stein has reported that the possibility of trading Collins has been reduced. While the Jazz were initially willing to consider offers for the player in December, the team's dynamics have changed markedly.
Riding a 15-4 positive streak over the last 19 games, the Jazz have re-entered NBA playoff contention, and Collins has played a pivotal role as the starting center, exceeding expectations.
John Collins, 26, came to the Jazz in a trade from the Hawks during the summer of 2023. Averaging 13.8 points, 7.7 rebounds and an outstanding 38% three-point shooting mid-season, he has secured a spot in the rotation, even surpassing highly regarded second-year player Walker Kessler.
