The
Brooklyn Nets have set their sights on a target heading into the final stretch of the NBA winter transfer window. The New York franchise, with the intention of elevating
Mikal Bridges to the next level, will seek to acquire a point guard who will avoid taking on so many responsibilities every night. That is why, right now, they have set their sights on
Dejounte Murray.
From the hubbub of NBA
Rumors, Windhorst noted on The Hoop Collective, "I know the Lakers and Hawks have been in talks.... I know the Knicks have been in the mix. The Nets are an option to consider."
Murray could be the key piece the Nets need to strengthen their offensive game and relieve Bridges of that burden for as long as possible. Averaging 21.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 1.4 steals, his presence on the court would provide a valuable scoring leadership alternative in Brooklyn, perfect for Mikal Bridges to have more freedom.
Although Bridges has contributed to Brooklyn's offense, his performances have not lived up to expectations. Averaging 21.4 points, 3.7 assists and 2.4 turnovers per game, his effectiveness from the field (45%) and from the three-point line (34.3%) leaves room for substantial improvement.
