Milwaukee Bucks star point guard Damian
Lillard has booked a place in the history books as he became the fourth-highest
three-pointer in the NBA.
The 33-year-old achieved that milestone
during the match against the Los Angeles Lakers where he ended up registering
three 3-pointers for the team.
With that first three-pointer, he
overtook Indiana Pacers legendary guard Reggie Miller on the list.
Lillard has now registered 2,564 three-pointers and he is only behind the Golden State Warriors star Stephen
Curry (3,680), Milwaukee Bucks’ Ray Allen (2,973) and the Los Angeles Clippers guard James Harden (2,910).
Lillard, who is averaging 3.09
three-pointers per game throughout his career, is amongst the only four players
in that list who are averaging more than three 3-pointers per game. The other three
are Curry (3.91), Klay Thompson (3.10) and Buddy Hield (3.07).
The California-born had a great outing
on a personal level against the Lakers where he ended up registering 28 points
to go with five rebounds and 12 assists. It was the third consecutive match
where he ended up registering 20 or more points for the Bucks.
However, that performance was not
enough as the Lakers came out on top in a nail-biting contest with a score of
123-122 at the crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Friday.
