Dallas Mavericks star
Luka Doncic had one of those incredible
nights in the match against the
Atlanta Hawks.
The 24-year-old, who is often regarded as one of the best
forwards in the league, registered a remarkable 73 points to go with 10 rebounds
and seven assists in the match against the Hawks.
It was this performance which proved to be enough as the Mavericks
went on to win the contest with a score of 148-143.
To relive the action on the night, NBA Spain uploaded a full
video of 5:13 second which featured all of Doncic’s 73 points on the night.
While doing so, Doncic managed to register the fourth-highest
points in a single game in the history of the NBA. Only Wilt Chamberlain, Kobe Bryant and David Thompson have managed to score
73 or more in a single game.
Out of those, Chamberlain remains
the only player who managed to score more than 73 points twice in a game. He registered
100 points in a game as well which remains the highest in a single game in the history
of the NBA.
With that performance, Doncic is now moved to the second position
in the points per game leaderboard where he is averaging 33.6 points per game,
only behind Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers who is averaging 36 points
per game.
