Alex Caruso still thinks about 'what could've been' with LeBron James and Anthony Davis on the #Lakers. lakersnation.com/lakers-news-al…
Alex Caruso spent his first few years in the NBA with the Los Angeles Lakers and found a lot of great success with the team, even winning a championship with them in 2020. But his time in LA ended in the 2021 free agency and he has been playing for the Chicago Bulls ever since.
But a new statement from the fiery guard has some people thinking that Caruso could be coming back to the Lakers soon. Speaking with Fox Sports, Caruso was asked if he ever wonders "what if" when thinking about staying with the Lakers instead of moving to the Bulls.
"I definitely have always thought about it because those guys [LeBron James and Anthony Davis] are my brothers," Caruso said. "We've been through a lot together. Always good seeing them. Every now and then you think about what could've been."
During his four seasons with the Lakers, Caruso averaged 5.9 rebounds, 1.9 rebounds, and 2.3 assists. Since coming to the Bulls, he has put up 7.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game.
In many ways, Caruso has become a better player since coming to Chicago and he has especially worked on his offensive game. This season, he is hitting a career-high of 49.1% of his shots from the floor.
Ever since he left the Lakers, there have been many fans hoping Caruso would eventually make his way back to the West Coast. With the NBA trade deadline approaching, the Chicago Bulls looking to change their roster, and the Lakers desperate for more offensive help, Caruso could be part of a trade that makes both teams happy.
