The
Brooklyn Nets shooting guard
Cam Thomas believes that
his name should be in the conversation of
Most Improved Player Award this season.
The 22-year-old is having a fabulous season for the Nets
where he is averaging 21.3 points per game which is the best by any Nets player
in the ongoing campaign. To go with that, he is also averaging 2.9 rebounds and
2.7 assists per game.
Thomas was recently quoted in a report where he stated that
his name should be in the conversation for the Most Improved Player of the season award.
“I feel like my name should definitely be in the [Most
Improved Player] conversation but what ever happens, happens,” he said. “I’m
just worried about getting wins. because we have bigger goals like getting to
the playoffs, the play-in. So I feel that’s more important than that,” he said.
“Obviously for the season I had, with what I’ve gone through
my first two years until now, just playing sporadically, now getting a full
time role a little bit in my third year. Having a jump like this, I feel like
that just can’t go unnoticed especially playing on the Nets, it can’t go
unnoticed for me. Obviously, I think my name should be in the conversation but
I’ll go as far as my team and that’s all that matters.”
