Rumors: Although they reached the NBA Finals last season, the
Miami Heat are definitely going through a rough patch right now. The team has now lost seven games in a row and has sunk down to the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference. This has some people saying that the Heat need to make yet another trade, just days after acquiring
Terry Rozier from the Charlotte Hornets.
Part of the problem lies with Rozier's work in Miami. Since joining the Heat, the point guard has averaged 11.8 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 4.5 assists. That pales in comparison to the 23.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 6.6 assists he was doing with the Hornets just weeks before. Of course, there is a chance that he is just working out some of the kinks and finding his footing in Miami but some Heat fans are worried.
If the Heat do decide to bolster the roster even more, they could add the likes of Royce O'Neal,
Dorian Finney-Smith, or perhaps even
Dejounte Murray. Each of those names has been reportedly linked to the Heat a time recently as the NBA
trade deadline approaches.
At the same time, the Heat could also just sit still and remain with the lineup they have right now, hoping that Rozier gets into the groove with the team and they begin securing some wins.
Based on the names attached to the Heat recently, it seems clear that they would want a shooter who can also defend, which is hard to come by in the league right now. O'Neale, Finney-Smith, and Murray would all fit that bill well.
