Philadelphia 76ers are fearing for the worse after their star
centre
Joel Embiid suffered a knee injury in the match against the Golden State
Warriors.
In a video that appeared on the social media platform X — previously
known as Twitter — it seemed that the 29-year-old hyperextended his injured knee
after Warriors’ young power forward
Jonathan Kuminga landed on it.
The Sixers will be hoping that Embiid will not be out of action
for a long time as he did return to the bench by walking according to the
Athletic journalist Anthony Slater.
The Yaounde-born has been arguably the most influential player
this season in the NBA where he is averaging 36 points per game which is the
best by any player. That’s not it as he is also averaging 11.4 rebounds (sixth
best) and 5.8 assists per game.
The Sixers had a tough night as they ended up losing the
contest to the Warriors at the Chase Center in San Francisco on Tuesday with a
score of 119-107. The winning team dominated three out of four quarters in the match.
For the losing team, the star performer on the night was power
forward Tobias Harris who registered 26 points along with 10 rebounds and two
assists.
