Oklahoma City Thunder’s new signing
Gordon Hayward has expressed
gratitude of representing his former franchise
Charlotte Hornets.
The 33-year-old made a move from the Hornets to Oklahoma in
the ongoing transfer window which concluded on Thursday, February 08.
Hayward, in a post on his official account on the social media
platform Instagram, expressed gratitude for representing his former franchise
and stated that the move was not ‘easy’.
“I’ve never been part of a trade deadline deal and the last
few days have been quite an adventure. Charlotte has been an amazing home for
our family and we are so grateful to the fans and Hornets organization for the
past four years. While change is never easy, I’m excited to get to OKC and get
to work,” he wrote.
Hayward joined the Hornets in the 2020-21 season. During his
time for the former franchise, he ended up registering more than 2500 points.
In the ongoing campaign, Hayward is having a good time on
the court where he is averaging 14.5 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.6 assists per
game.
His best outing in the 2023-24 campaign came in the match against
the Washington Wizards where he ended up registering 27 points including five
rebounds and nine assists.
