The
Cleveland Cavaliers are reportedly edging closer to completing
the signing of young two-way guard Craig Porter Jr.
The mid-season transfer window recently came to an end when
teams finalised their strategy to strengthen the contingent for the remainder
of the campaign.
NBA insider Shams Charania, in a post on his official account
on the social media platform X — previously known as Twitter — has revealed that
Porter Jr. agent has confirmed to the Athletic that the player will sign a
four-year deal with the Cavaliers.
The 23-year-old is having a decent season where he is
averaging 6.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists per
game. His best outing this season came in the match against the Chicago Bulls where
he ended up registering 19 points to go with seven rebounds and eight assists.
Cavaliers are having an impressive season as they are placed
on the top of the Central Standings with 35 wins and just 17 defeats.
In the last fixture, they suffered a rather surprising
defeat against the Philadelphia 76ers with a score of 123-121 at the Rocket
Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland on Monday. It was their first defeat after nine
consecutive matches.
