Draymond Green has had a very rough season, mostly because of his own actions. The four-time champion has averaged 9.5 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 5.7 assists during his 16 games playing with the Warriors. But he could have been a part of so many more games, had he only watched himself and kept his temper in check.
Now Green is back with this team just days before the upcoming NBA trade deadline and people are wondering if the Warriors might decide to trade him, perhaps to the Sacramento Kings.
Writing for Yardbarker, Allen Simon proposed a trade that would send Green a few miles east to the Kings On the surface, it might sound like a bad idea for the Kings but there are reasons to believe that this could help Sacramento get even better.
The biggest reason why the Kings shouldn't immediately shoot down the concept of Green playing for them is because he could immediately help them with their biggest problem: defense. Even though he has plenty of problems, Green has always been a strong defensive player and he could bring his skills to the Kings.
Plus, he has a ton of experience and a high level of basketball IQ. He would be more of a player-coach in Sacramento and could impart his wisdom to the very youthful squad.
Green also has a close relationship with Sacramento head coach Mike Brown, as Brown worked for the Warriors a few years ago as an assistant coach under Steve Kerr.
Green brings a lot of baggage and challenges, of course, but he could also improve the team in the ways they need it most. That being said, has he become too toxic for the Kings or any team to try and sign him?
