HAWKS WIN!
The Atlanta Hawks were rumored to trade away Dejounte Murray to the Los Angeles Lakers this trade deadline. However, both parties couldn't reach an agreement and ultimately, the All-Star shooting guard remains with the team.
Tonight, Murray proved why that was the right decision to not trade him away. He led the Atlanta Hawks to a 122-113 victory over the Houston Rockets at State Farm Arena.
After a slow start to the season, the Georgia team is picking things up, winning 6 of their last 8 games and fighting to move up in the Eastern Conference Standings.
Dejounte Murray finished with 34 points, 6 rebounds, and 7 assists tonight. Saddiq Bey scored 24 points while Most Improved Player candidate Jalen Johnson had 21 points. Trae Young had a rough shooting night but still ended with 18 points.
Meanwhile, Jalen Green led the Rockets with a big stat line. He finished with a triple double, recording 26 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 assists. The 3rd year guard was also being shopped around, but Houston decided to keep him and that seems like a good decision as well with the way he played tonight.
Veteran Jeff Green scored 19 points while rookie Amen Thompson had a double double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Aaron Holiday had 18 points off the bench and Jabari Smith Jr. played amazing defense tonight, as he recorded 4 steals and 4 blocks.
